Assistant Superintendent Dr. Jeff Klein greeted the group and went over the agenda for the evening.
He shared that the group was going to answer its remaining questions and refine its findings. Then we will compile the findings and send them out to the community in a survey, where we will ask people what they think of them.
The findings and the public’s response to them will come together in a report, which the Board will consider as it decides on next steps. Next steps could include an advisory committee to make a recommendation about how to respond to the issues we face as a result of the nationwide bus driver shortage.
The subgroups met again to answer any outstanding questions and to refine their findings in each of the four areas: sleep research, elementary logistics, middle-school logistics and high-school logistics.
Then the committee members presented their findings to the whole group and participated in a gallery walk to review all of each other’s findings.
Finally, the subgroups went through the feedback they received from the other groups, made any necessary adjustments, and then wrapped up their work.
The survey will come out on Friday, May 31, and the committee will meet again to review the results of the survey on Monday, June 10.
